Le Voyage dans la Lune
Often considered to be the very first science fiction film, Le Voyage dans la Lune tells the story of a group of astronomers who go to the moon, explore its surface and discover its lunar inhabitants. This short, silent film from 1902 is the best-known work of director Georges Méliès and remains one of the most influential films in cinema history.
La Jetée
This short black and white film, reconstructed from stills, tells the story of an experiment in time travel. It won the Prix Jean Vigo for short film in 1962.
