Morley College London hosts a day for discussing the work of Cornelius Cardew, the problems modern composers face and composing as part of the movement for enlightenment and progress.
Morning: The music of Cornelius Cardew
- Characteristics of his music at each stage of his career
- The focus of his later works
Afternoon: Music-making in the 21st century
- What problems face composers today
- Composing as part of the movement for enlightenment and progress
The emphasis will be on discussion and the contributions of the participants. Everyone is welcome, irrespective of qualification.
