Morley offers a wide range of part-time day and evening classes that can help you gain a qualification and improve your skills and confidence.

Courses include:

Who can enrol?

ESOL courses are for adults who do not speak English as a first language and want to improve their language skills for work, living in the UK or study.

EFL courses are for people in the UK for work or study and need an international qualification. 

Our English and maths courses are ideal for people who want to improve their reading, writing or maths or gain a functional English or functional maths qualifications.

Our GCSE maths and English courses are for people with a very good grounding in maths and English and want to achive a qualification in one year. 

Our ICT classes and workshops are for all levels of confidence and computing skills.

The Preparation for Work and Study courses are for those who would like to start a new career or improve their skills for higher education. 

How to enrol

To be placed in the right class you will need to attend an initial assessment and interview (see dates below). Online enrolment is not possible for Essential Skills courses, except for EFL. 

ESOL and EFL Courses

To enrol you must bring proof of eligibility on your assessment day:

  • Passport/visa
  • Receipts of benefits - written proof
  • Low income (less than £330 p/w) - recent bank statements or 3 pay slips from the last six months. 

EFL
No assessment is needed for EFL courses but we strongly recommend you take the online Cambridge test. You can enrol for an EFL course online, in person or by telephone on 020 7450 1889.

GCSE
Our GCSE English and maths courses are year-long courses and the next intake will be in September. You will need to attend an initial assessment first; if you are successful you will be asked to come in for an interview. Assessment dates will be updated on the website.

Access to Higher Education (HE) English and maths Advice and Guidance

The below Advice and Guidance session is for those students planning to start an Access to Higher Education (HE) course or an Advanced Level 3 Diploma course and need to gain the appropriate English and maths qualifications:

Essential Skills at the Lewington Centre

The Lewington Centre is based in Rotherhithe, between Lewisham and Southwark, and offers a range of Essential Skills courses including ESOL, English and maths. To find out more and to enrol, please attend one of the Advice and Guidance sessions listed below:

What do I need to bring with me?

Students who want to enrol on one of our Essential Skills courses should bring the following as proof of eligibility as it may be required on assessment day:

Please note that our Functional Skills and GCSE English and maths courses are free and therefore you do not need bring proof of eligibility with you.
