What you will learn

Yoruba is one of Africa’s most widely spoken languages, which is a good language to speak if you are thinking about travelling in West Africa or just to connect with families and friends or perhaps seeking employment. You will enhance your level of vocabulary and pronunciations and fluency in Yoruba language in this lively environment. (E.g. speak in the past and present tenses while using the tonal marks appropriately).

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • understand Yoruba alphabet phonics, vowels and consonants for pronunciation and for developing of vocabularies and for tonal marks
  • develop fluency, in using variety of words in the past, present and future tenses to expressing themselves in everyday communication both spoken and written

    Practice speaking and reading. Learning through practical activities (individual tasks, role-plays, pair and small group work, games) Writing basic single words and short sentences, e.g. gap-filling. Listening for the gist or basic information
