What you will learn

Sharks and rays evoke a range of emotions from fear to fascination. Develop knowledge and gain insights into the life histories of these survivors from an ancient age.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • State the taxonomic group of sharks and rays
  • Describe the main anatomical and physiological features of sharks and rays including their senses
  • Outline some of the science of shark attacks
  • Explain the threats to sharks and rays, conservation efforts to help them and ways in which you can make a positive difference

    This course will be offered as an online course using Microsoft Teams. You will be taught in a number of different ways including presentations with visual examples, discussions and problem solving activities. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above.
