Entry requirements
The Kenningtones is open to everyone - there are no auditions. You do not need to live or work in Lambeth. Music is taught by ear although writing notation is distributed. You just need a desire to sing, to have fun and to create some great music as a group.
What you need to know before you enrol
This is an online course, therefore you will need access a computer with internet connection, and basic IT skills (see below). Please inform the tutor regarding any concerns of physical restriction (e.g. spinal problems, difficulty in movement etc.) or breathing problems (e.g. asthma or other related conditions); where necessary, the tutor will suggest an alternative tailored to the individual.
What you need
This is an online course, therefore you will need access to a personal computer/laptop/ipad with working internal microphone and camera, and decent internet wi-fi connection. You will also need to have and basic IT skills, in order to be able to access and use effectively the online material, eg. the online platforms for the live sessions and shared material, such as Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, and the Morley College Moodle page. Ahead of the first session, you will receive information about the exact format and length of the live part of the course, together with guidance on how to access the relevant platforms. During the first session, you will receive guidance from your tutor about how to access the online course material, such as recordings and sheet music.
Class format and activities
The sessions this term will run online. Instructions about how to access the sessions will be sent to you ahead of the first session. The sessions will be led by Cerys Hogg from her piano, and will be encouraging you to sing along in the comfort of your own space, growing confidence in singing, while following the rhythm and melody of the vocal lines. TThe sessions also include a 'social' get-together at the end, for anyone who wishes to socialise with the other members of the group.
