In this practical course you will learn a number of camera and lighting techniques that will enable you to create interesting portraits and eye-catching fashion photographs. In our industry standard studio you will have the opportunity to use up-to-date equipment to produce high quality images. By discovering the work of renowned photographers, you will experiment with lighting techniques and explore composition and styling with the aim of recreating the lighting effects of your chosen photographers. You will identify the challenges of portraiture and fashion photography and will learn how to resolve them. The course is based around practical demonstrations and extensive hands on practice. At the end of the course, you will go home with a good range of images.
This is a hands-on course and will be delivered in Chelsea Centre. You will learn actively and will practice the demonstrated skills during the sessions with continuous support by the tutor.
To join this course you should have a good understanding of camera controls in terms of aperture, shutter speed and ISO
The course is suitable to those who have a good understanding of basic camera skills and a passion for studio lighting
You will need a DSLR, or mirrorless camera that allows access to manual controls.
At the end of this course you could join the Studio lighting workshop, or the Food and Product photography course
