What you will learn

Further develop your skills in using the language in a range of practical and social situations. Build on your knowledge of present, past, future, and subjunctive forms, and practice by using them in business communication and holiday planning. This course is suitable for students who have completed A2 level and are working towards B1 (intermediate level)

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Consolidate the use of past tenses (pretérito imperfecto and pretérito indefinido)
  • Talk about the future: express probability, predictions, and conditions
  • Express consecutive actions in the past: cause and effect
  • Debate some cultural and current affairs related to Spanish speaking countries
  • Understand the gist of a narrative, explanation, or description

    Practicing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Learning through practical activities (individual tasks, role-plays, pair and small group work and games). Write more complex sentences: e.g. gap-filling and grammar exercises. Following and giving presentations. Listening for the gist and more specific information. Revising topics (e.g. vocabulary) and grammar points In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular and detailed feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.

    Entry requirements

    We recommend that you complete Spanish Stage 2 unit 3 or have the equivalent knowledge of approx. 100 hours of previous study before enrolling on this course.     What you need to know before you enrol

    You will need to have access to Internet and a device in order to access these lessons, which will be delivered mainly remotely. Some classroom-based lessons will be negotiated with students (subject to room availability) Students unable to attend will be given the opportunity to attend remotely. Good attendance and punctuality are required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time (approx. 2 hours/weekly)

    Access to Morley Moodle (Virtual Learning Environment) on a weekly basis. In here you will find class and supplementary material for each lesson. Also, a notebook with you to take note of the new input of each lesson. Textbook: to be confirmed by the teacher
