Solo Singing: Oratorio
What you will learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Deepen knowledge of the oratorio repertoire and styles of performance and interpretation
- Develop confidence in singing in front of an audience
- Develop vocal performance skills with an experienced tutor and accompanist
Class format and activities
Following a master-class format, students will have regular, individual sessions to perform own-choice repertoire (as advised by the tutor), receive advice and guidance from the tutor and get feedback from fellow classmates. There will be a lunch-break between 1-2pm.
This course is for students of intermediate and advanced levels, who have had at least three years of singing tuition.
What you need to know before you enrol
For this course, you need to choose and prepare one or two solos from any oratorio work of your choice.
What you need
You will need three copies of your chosen songs (one for the tutor, one for the accompanist, and one for yourself), and any preferred personal equipment for taking notes on your progress and further goals, eg. a recording device such as your smartphone, or a notepad and pen
