It is suitable for all learners with at least a year of experience singing solo repertoire. Music reading is not necessary for this course.

  • Extend the register in which you can sing comfortably

  • Class format and activities

You will be receiving material of vocal exercises of each session in the form of handouts and recordings. During the session, the tutor will be taking you through the exercises, explaining and demonstrating, and inviting each student to explore, to sing back and receive feedback, and to ask questions, . These exercises will be building up throughout the term, and they will cover a wide range of vocal technique (breathing, singing legato and staccato, groups of consonants and vowels etc.) This course is best combined with a vocal performance course, such as the Singing Performance Studio course on Mondays, which gives you the opportunityto apply the outcomes of your 'workout' on performance of your solo repertoire. The tutor will be also applying simple and systematic Yoga and Feldenkreis exercises that will help connect your voice to your breathing and achieve a deeper connection between the body and your singing.
