What you will learn

This course will teach you how to improve the flexibility of your voice, develop strategies for learning coloratura repertoire in addition to working on communication and interpretation.

  • Class format and activities

    Classes will begin with technical exercises focusing on vocal flexibility and agility. There will be an opportunity for each student to perform a piece of coloratura repertoire and receive feedback and guidance. All students will engage in discussion.

    Entry requirements

    You will need to have at least four years of classical singing tuition. You should be able to sing in tune and have a good sense of timing. Knowledge of music notation is required

    What you need to know before you enrol

    You will need to perform solo in front of the class and should have a piece of coloratura prepared

    What you need

    You should bring three copies of your chosen piece of coloratura repertoire (one for your pianist, one for the tutor and one for yourself), and any preferred equipment for taking notes e.g. a recording device, notebook and pen.
