Create a natural dye palette using plant extracts and seasonal foraging. Print with natural dye extracts and print discharge methods to remove colour and create pattern. Experiment with a range of pattern and mark making techniques on various fabrics. Explore current thinking around issues of sustainability in textiles.
Learn in a friendly and supportive environment through presentations, demonstrations, group discussions and create your own sample book with recipes and methods.
Entry is open to all levels and is suitable for beginners
This course is on the second floor of the Nancy Seear Building on King Edwards Walk. There is lift access to the first floor only. Good mobility required for stairs to studio and garden
Notebook and pen, rubber gloves and apron. Fabrics are available for sale including organic cotton, linen and silks.
