What you will learn

How to make small woven and wrapped sculptural shapes and figures and how to use and manipulate different materials

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Manipulate and create woven and wrapped sculptural pieces.
  • Learn how to start and finish wrapped sculptural and woven forms.
  • Understand how to use and transform raffia, wire, paper and wool into formed pieces
  • Be able to create their own sculptural form or weaving at home.
  • Understand and practice how to use a range of different materials

  • Class format and activities

    The tutor will bring in and discuss relevant samples and demonstrate techniques. You will practise the techniques with observation and feedback from the tutor. Group learning, discussion and evaluation will help you develop specific skills and enable progression.

    Entry requirements

    No previous experience is necessary, but a degree of manual dexterity is required.

    What you need to know before you enrol

    This course is on the second floor of the Nancy Seear Building on King Edward Walk. There is lift access to the first floor only and stair lift to 2nd floor. If you have any mobility support needs please contact Additonal Learning Support on 020 7450 1972 before enrolling
