What you will learn

In the Night photo walks, you will use photographic techniques and long exposures that will allow you to explore artificial and natural light and photograph at different London locations at dusk and different levels of darkness. You will explore your creativity by taking photos using long exposures and will capture moving subjects with light trails. During the sessions, you will develop skills and create interestingly composed photographs; you will also explore the possibilities of ‘painting with light’. Our enthusiastic and experienced tutor will provide feedback and great tips for night photography and will take you to some great locations where you can practice photographing in the dark.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use your camera in manual mode and achieve well-exposed photographs in low lighting conditions
  • Produce a range of well composed photos with different lighting effects
  • Acquire a good understanding of long exposures and how to achieve them
  • Use your camera to control light

    Entry requirements

    In order to join the course, you should have a good understanding of the basics of photography in terms of ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
