What you will learn

A one day taster for Beginners to get the feel for Metal Sculpture and explore some welding, cutting techniques and appropriate health & safety procedures. Existing Metal Sculpture students can use this class to develop their on going projects from the term. It is essential to wear old clothes and strong footwear. These courses are technician supported. Basic materials included.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Beginner Students will: Practice basic welding & cutting procedures including safety requirements. Practice Health and safety and good workshop practice
  • Returning/Ongoing Students will: Develop skill & techniques in metal sculpture with ongoing personal projects from the term
  • Returning students: complete sculpture to satisfactory standard
  • All studio Health and Safety procedures followed as guided by Tutor and Technical Demonstrator

    What you need to know before you enrol

    Pelham Hall Sculpture studio is a 5 min walk from the main College on Lambeth walk.

    What you need

    Fire proof overalls or clothes if possible (some of these can also be borrowed in class) Protective footwear or strong shoes/boots. All college issue protective clothing must be worn where applicable
