What you will learn

This lunchtime choir is entirely non-auditioning. It is led by conductor Benedict Collins-Rice. Ideal for singers who wish to train their musicianship and vocal skills while gaining experience singing in a mixed choir. Sessions will commence with a mixture of vocal warm-ups to further train the vocal apparatus, and will include simple musicianship exercises to improve sight-singing, and, for the main part of the sessions, the choir will be working on the chosen repertoire for this term. This term, the Meridian Choir will join the other choirs at Morley College (Morley Chamber Choir, Can't Sing Choir, the Kenningtones, Morley Folk Choir and Morley Jazz Choir) for the Morley College ChoralFest on Friday 7 July at 7pm, performing extracts from The Summer from Haydn's The Seasons. For the excerpts from the Seasons, the choir will be using the Barenreiter edition, and members are expected to purchase their own copy directly from available sellers.
