A practical creative writing course for writers with previous experience of memoir writing. You will develop your ideas, further your knowledge and experiment with your writing. You can share work in class and guidance on approaching publishers will be given.
This is a practical creative writing course. Each week there will different writing activities which will help you to further your knowledge of your subject, develop your ideas and improve and experiment with your writing style. You will study texts from a range of life writing material and be asked to contribute to class discussions. You will be expected to share excerpts from your work-in-progress with your fellow students for feedback.
No, but some previous experience of memoir writing is essential. This is not a class for those wanting to try out memoir writing for the first time.
Students will have access to coursework via Morley Moodle and Microsoft Teams. Students will be set regular written assignments and expected to do a certain amount of reading and research outside of class.
Pen and Paper. Access to a computer or tablet will be useful to support you will your course. There will be times when you will need to bring in excerpts from your personal project for peer and tutor feedback.
