Work with theatre maker and Artistic Director of Page One Theatre, Chloe Stephens, to explore the discipline of making work for an early years audience. Drawing on Michael Chekhov's imaginative approach to actor training and theatre making, this six week course will explore ways to engage with an early years audience in an immediate and genuine way. You will discover some of the techniques Chloe uses in her own work when devising visual theatre for early years and be given the chance to begin to develop your own work. We will share the work with children at the Morley College Creche. You will have the chance to meet other theatre makers interested in making work for young audiences, be guided and supported in starting to develop your own piece of work.
The sessions will include a warm up and cool down, group and solo work as well as exercises led by Chloe and self-led practice. There will be an emphasis on collaborative practice.
An interest in making theatre for young audiences.
Please come in clothes that are easy to move in, and avoid wearing tights as we may work bare foot. A bottle of water, and a notebook/phone/iPad that you can take notes on would be very useful.
