What you will learn

A fun 2 day course. Learn about basic metal work for jewellery making and create rings using wire and sheet metal. The course will cover, measuring ring sizes, piercing techniques for fretworked rings made of sheet metal, working with wire to make rings including twisted wire rings. Finishing and polishing. Copper and brass will be available from the studio. Students can choose to purchase silver independently of the college and tutor will advise. (There will be a material charge of £2 in addition to the course fee)

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Meet the tutor and explore the tools needed to study the subject
  • Create a ring using wire and sheet metal.
