What you will learn

A fun practical ONLINE course, suitable for those new to sewing as well as those looking to expand their abilities. You'll learn how to create a pair of beautiful, high quality knickers in luxury fabrics. We provide a range of pdf patterns for you to choose from to make gorgeous underwear in cotton, silk, and lace. You will learn techniques suitable for lingerie making and upcycling textiles into lingerie garments, including elastication and lingerie seam finishes. This course will give you the skills to create your own knickers in your choice of fabrics and finishes.

Class format and activities

Demonstrations and techniques will be provided in the form of downloadable videos for you to follow along. We will hold online Q and A group sessions via webcam for you to be able to get in depth understanding of how to make the techniques work with your fabrics and home machine. You will receive personalised private feedback from your tutor to build up your skills to a high standard and check that you have the knowledge to continue your lingerie making journey.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for complete beginners Knowledge of a sewing machine including rethreading and winding a bobbin is beneficial. Ability to stitch a straight seam with consistent seam allowance is beneficial. You will need to have your own domestic sewing machine and a printer to print out patterns.

What you need to know before you enrol

This class will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams, (you will be given a login once you have enrolled for the class). You will need to be able to download and print your pattern and provide your own sewing machine and fabrics.

1/2m of fabric. You can use a stretch or a woven and upcycling of garments/stash is encouraged. 1.5m of plush back knicker elastic (7-10mm) available at www.sewingchest.co.uk Sharp scissors, Spool of thread Optional- 1.5m of stretch lace trim (available on ebay) This course is held on-line.
