What you will learn

The Level 2 Award in Payroll for Business qualification is specifically aimed at learners who wish to further their studies of payroll and gain a qualification at Level 2 of the regulated qualification framework, having already achieved the IAB Level 1 Award in Payroll for Business. Achievement on your course will be measured by completion of external exams. Your progress towards achieving the learning outcomes will be reviewed throughout the course. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals i.e.: progression to another course

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of legislation relating to the processing of the payroll
  • Set up and maintain company, pension and employee records using commercially available payroll software
  • Determine gross pay for different payroll periods
  • Produce statutory and non-statutory reports

Entry requirements

You should have completed the Level 1 Award in Payroll for Business. You will need maths and English at Level 1 or above.

What you need to know before you enrol

Excellent attendance of over 90% is required from all students.

What you need

You will need access to a computer and internet connection to participate in lessons and complete activities. Lessons will be delivered via online platforms, i.e Microsoft Teams and Moodle.

Class format and activities

Online deliver with limited face-to-face teaching. You will participate in individual and group activities, and you will have regular constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor.
