- Become familiar with the recording process and learn from observing the other students too

Class format and activities
• On the first Saturday you'll play your chosen tune to the group and the tutor will help everyone achieve the most effective arrangement, give suggestions for chord voicings and tips for improvisation, etc.
• The second Saturday will be held in the studio. You'll take turns to record your chosen tune and get feedback from a professional drummer, bass player and studio engineer.
• The recording will yours to keep and use as a demo.
• The times of the class are 11am to 4pm both days. On the 2nd day you can if you wish book a time slot for your recording. Outside of this you are welcome to observe the other recordings.
Entry requirements
You need to have experience playing and improvising in a jazz, blues, funk or Latin style.
What you need to know before you enrol
Choose a tune, preferably a standard that you already know well. If you prefer to record an original composition make sure you provide clear charts for bass and drums. The tutor can help with this on the first day.

Please learn your tune before coming to the first class, and be ready to adapt it to the trio setting.
