What you will learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Exchange detailed and factual information on selected topics
- Understand the main points of a conversation or short presentation
- Read and listen to texts from different sources and media
- Have a greater understanding of the Italian language and how to use some of its structures
Class format and activities
The course will include some lessons on line and some on site . The online lessons will be negotiated and agreed. The course will be delivered through remote classes online. You will need access to Microsoft Teams or Zoom via a laptop and internet access. To access additional resources you will need to use the College’s virtual learning environment, Moodle. You will be taught in a friendly environment that encourages participation in a range of learning activities, including speaking in pairs or groups, written exercises and oral presentations. A variety of teaching and learning methods will be applied to support your learning: Question and answer, group activities, role-plays, multiple choices, gap-filling, listening and reading comprehension. In addition your tutor will use the internet for audio and visual material to support your learning. You should be committed to regular homework in order to reinforce what has been covered each week. Grammar will be an integrated element for all topics and help you to work on your skills more independently. You will be assessed by tutor assessment of informal weekly learning activities and formal coursework assignments. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular,constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor, who will monitor your achievements by question and answer, some written work, speaking activities and regular homework assignments.and informal feedback from your tutor, in a friendly and supportive environment. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets.
We recommend that you have completed Stage 4 Unit 1 or equivalent before enrolling for this course.
What you need to know before you enrol
Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. Regular work is given to be done at home to support and consolidate your learning. You should therefore dedicate some time for this on a weekly basis. The course will be delivered online. It is important that you have access to a computer for the duration of the course.

In order to access online lessons and resources for your course, you will need the following: Internet access. You also need a pen ,notepad and a dictionary.
