This 10-week program is designed for students who have a stage 2 in the Italian language and a specific interest in the field of art. Throughout the course, we will deepen your knowledge of Italian vocabulary, grammar, and cultural understanding, with a strong focus on art-related topics. We will explore the works of eight influential Italian painters, studying their techniques, themes, and contributions to the world of art. By the end of the program, you will have improved your language skills while gaining a better understanding of Italian art terminology, art history, and artistic expressions. You will be able to engage in conversations about Italian art, describe artworks, and express your opinions and interpretations confidently. Italian Stage 3: L’Italiano per l’Arte
What you will learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe and discuss selected Italian paintings.
- Analize techniques, use of color, and storytelling abilities.
- Appreciate exquisite cityscapes and vedute paintings.
- Explore still-life paintings, focusing on form, color, and composition.
Class format and activities
You will communicate in Italian, focus on the language with learning activities and materials between lessons, become more confident in using vocabulary and various language structures. You will get clear guidance and ongoing, regular and informal feedback from your tutor, in a friendly and supportive environment. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals.
Stage 2 in Italian or equivalent but no formal qualification is required.
