Roman ruinsThis is a proficiency course designed around a journey through Italy to discover places that, in different periods, had a moment of absolute splendor, marking the history of the peninsula. It is a journey that tells the beauty of the places, the main events, the most important characters who have contributed to today's appearance of the cities and influenced the character of the inhabitants, their identity and customs. Our journey will explain the evolution of Italy over the centuries, reveal traditions and the progressive integration of innovative ideas, discover recipes, explore sumptuous buildings and great works of art.

Setting off from Rome, the ‘eternal city’ and one of the richest cities in terms of monuments and artistic wonders, the course will take you through other cities in Lazio, which are also full of history and culture. Rieti and its noble buildings, Viterbo, the ancient ‘popes’ city’ and Civitavecchia and its historic centre are amongst the other destinations on this journey. You will also discover Lazio’s natural beauty, following a route that includes the coasts, lakes and volcano craters.

You will be provided with an enjoyable way to learn about aspects of Italian geography and culture while simultaneously improving language skills. 'Vieni e viaggia con noi'!

    These are remote lessons via video conference. You will communicate with via Microsoft Teams. You will focus on the language with learning activities and materials between lessons. You will get clear guidance and ongoing, regular and informal feedback from your tutor, in a friendly and supportive environment. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above.

    No formal qualifications are necessary; a proficient knowledge of the Italian language is required to be able to follow the course in Italian only.
