What you will learn

This course is an introduction to mobile app design for user interfaces (UI) with Figma. This will include the key stages of designing an app such as layouts and components. ‘Figma is the free mobile design tool trusted by design teams at Uber, Square and Twitter.’ www.figma.com.

Create shapes
Use layers, groups and frames
Apply colour and text
Use components
Create a menu page

Class format and activities

You will be taught in rooms equipped with Macs and will have access to Adobe software during lessons. Your tutor will deliver the content via a mixture of demonstrations and one to one support in class.

Entry requirements

A basic understanding of working with text and images/shapes on PCs/Macs. It would be an advantage to be familiar with Adobe Illustrator/other vector based software.

What you need

You will need to sign up to a free Figma account at figma.com. A USB storage device to save your work. A notebook and stationery.
