What you will learn

In today’s environment, the ability to draw and to develop ideas using computer software has become an essential skill for all those studying or interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry. This course will introduce you to fashion illustration using Photoshop tools. The skills you will learn are transferable, and will help you master other design software packages. This skill set will be instrumental in progressing on to other fashion courses.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Scan, clean and trace images using multiple layers
Rework your own illustrations
Render your illustrations using colour and textiles

Class format and activities

This will be delivered in centre in one of our digital suites. Typical activities will take place in the format of direct teaching with tutor demonstrations, peer discussions, practical skill development and use of examples. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have the opportunity to discuss this with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals. i.e progression to another course.
