What you will learn

From the Cato Street Conspiracy to the Gordon Riots, this series of walks will visit areas in London that commemorate Heroes and Villains. But at a time when the legitimacy of some statues is being challenged - who is a hero and who is a villain? These walks will explore both the issues and the locations

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explore the lives of the heroes and villains both historic and present discovered on the walks.
  • Learn about the social history of the eight areas visited.
  • By observing the architecture of the area, you will learn how to date it approximately, and also ascertain how it was used and by whom.

    The course will be a series of two hour walks, all starting and finishing near public transport.
