What you will learn

The aim of this course is to provide students with a knowledge of basic German for everyday situations. The emphasis is on the practical use of German and the development of your speaking and listening skills.

    Mode of delivery: on site You will work with a course book and additional material supplied by the tutor. Topics include greetings and introductions, personal information, numbers, alphabet, jobs and hobbies. Any specific course information, learning apps or additional online learning resources e.g. Youtube videos can be accessed on Google Classroom Typical activities include active students’ interaction, pair work, listening comprehension, use of realia, pictures and authentic material, use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate Assessment methods: Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals / progression

    Entry requirements

    This course is suitable for complete beginners. The level within the European framework is A1 It would also be helpful if you had some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as: a verb, a noun and conjugation.
