Follow verbal instructions and practical demonstrations, work and practise as part of the group and individually and Perform in front of the class. Your input and participation in discussions and Q&A sessions is very important
Having attended terms 1 and/or 2 or having a basic understanding of the following: Subdivisions: Crotchets, Quavers, Triplets and Semiquavers Basic Quaver, Triplet and Semiquaver based Drum Kit grooves Basic music reading skills Students joining in the spring term are advised to contact the Music Department Office before enrolling
A regular practice routine is essential to keep up with the course and get the most out of it. Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
A pair of Drumsticks - access to a drum kit or practice pads is advisable. We will give you advice on how to make your own makeshift materials to keep up your playing remotely. Optional notepad and pen This term the course will be delivered online so you will need an Email address that you can access regularly; you will also need to get familiarised with the basic use of video conference software. You will also need a reliable internet connection.
