What you will learn

Being able to express ideas and utilise colour, texture and design effectively through drawing are essential skills for creating a successful textile or craft work. This two day drawing course is designed to help maximise ideas, expand your use of colour and design and make the most of drawings to enable translation into a textiles or craft project. Draw and paint from a variety of specially prepared still-lifes that will help you understand and practise how to use colour effectively. Learn to make lively, expressive drawings and create softness, texture and depth. You will look at the work of artists and designers to understand their achievements and gain inspiration from their work. Get advice, feedback and help with your drawing and look at and discuss how to refine and develop your skills further. We will also look at how to use your own photographs and develop them into drawings.
