What you will learn

This course will introduce the origin of some Chinese characters from pictograms and their development to modern Chinese characters. You will be introduced some characters and then quizzed on your recognition of them. You will learn the pronunciation of the four tones used in the Chinese language in an amusing and effective way. Also, you will learn how to greet other people and introduce yourself.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

recognise about 15 Chinese characters
pronounce the four tones of Chinese Mandarin
say some basic greetings
ask and answer basic questions, including names and nationalities
introduce yourself, stating your and your family members’ names, nationalities, and jobs
