What you will learn

The Certificate of Higher Education Creative Practice: Music Production course at Morley College London is a flexible full- and part-time programme offering a subject specific and multidisciplinary creative education. It equips students with creative, personal, and professional skills through individual and collaborative projects, culminating in a final independently conceived project to empower their creative direction and career aspirations.

Over this one-year full-time or two years part-time course of level 4 study, students gain and develop a solid grounding in music production, additionally focusing on wider skills of analysis, reflection, research, and digital competencies. Collaborative projects introduce the dynamic nature of the creative industries and build essential capabilities for multidisciplinary work.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to explore, innovate, and apply their music production and wider creativity skills to real-world challenges, shaping their ambitions in a supportive, individual and multidisciplinary environment.

  • By the program’s conclusion, students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to progress to level 5 studies.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have achieved a level 3 qualification with 64 UCAS points in a relevant creative subject, GCSEs, grade 4/C in English (or an equivalent qualification). For non-native English speakers, an IELTS 5.5 is required. We offer places based on your existing sound production or music creation work shown to use at interview. All students should be computer literate, with a working knowledge of programs like Microsoft Office. We invite all applicants to a taster day to experience practice sessions and present their portfolio in a personal interview.

We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, including those who do not have formal qualifications, are mature students, have relevant work experience and have qualifications different from those typically required. If this applies to you, you will need to show you have the aptitude and potential to succeed on the course. We will assess this during an interview, following Morley's Accreditation of Prior Learning Policy and Procedure and Student Transfer Plan.
