Classes will be held at Morley College and are continuous over three terms. Each term is a separate course: Bass Guitar 1A (from September), Bass Guitar 1B (from January), Bass Guitar 1C (from April). The tutor provides handouts for each lesson and demonstrates current coursework, including any details about theory, harmony, rhythm, phrasing, and technique. Students are encouraged to perform each exercise, which the tutor accompanies on guitar, piano or with backing tracks. Play-along backing tracks are provided for homework and personal development. To ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, feedback, advice, and Q&A sessions are conducted in a constructive and supportive environment.
No previous experience of the bass guitar is necessary. Students should own a bass guitar. Students will be working with electronic amplifiers provided by the college, and will be instructed how to work this equipment safely to avoid health risks. Online enrolment on term 2 of this course is only available to those enrolled in the previous term.If you are a current student you will have received an email alerting you to this. If you are new to this course please select 'Ask a Question' and the curriculum department will contact you.
Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
