What you will learn

The BA (Hons) Creative Practice: Fine Art course at Morley College London is a flexible full- and part-time programme offering a fine art and multidisciplinary creative education. It equips students with creative, personal, and professional skills through individual and collaborative projects, culminating in a final independently conceived project to empower their creative direction and career aspirations.

In the first year (Level 4), students gain and develop a solid grounding in fine art, additionally focusing on wider skills of analysis, reflection, research, and digital competencies. Collaborative projects introduce the dynamic nature of the creative industries and build essential capabilities for multidisciplinary work.

The second year (Level 5) encourages experimentation of students’ fine art skills through live project briefs and work-based learning with established professionals. Students further define their creative identity, applying their skills in individual and team-based projects. By exploring the context and applications of creative practice, they refine their direction and gain practical tools for societal and industry engagement.

In the final year (Level 6), students independently design and deliver a major creative project, supported by a research methods module and professional development opportunities. This stage emphasises iterative processes like design, prototyping, collaboration, and presentation, empowering students to confidently situate their practice within the creative industries. Final year fine art students can exhibit their work within one of the Morley exhibition spaces.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to explore, innovate, and apply their fine art and wider creativity skills to real-world challenges, shaping their ambitions in a supportive, individual and multidisciplinary environment.

There are also many satellite workshop areas devoted to specific practical fine art disciplines, such as: intaglio printmaking, screenprint, sculpture and casting, woodworking, digital image making, filmmaking and 3D printing. In addition to practical workshops, the course integrates theoretical and critical seminars where we discuss and analyse themes associated with social concerns and contemporary art practices. The course emphasises small group and individual one-to-one discussions, where your individual voice and creative agenda is placed at the centre of learning. Importance is placed on exhibiting work through having an Interim and End-of-Year exhibition. We also have a pop-up space where students lead on Solo Exhibitions on a rolling basis.
