The BA (Hons) Creative Practice: Fashion, Textiles and Millinery course at Morley College London is a flexible full- and part-time programme offering a multidisciplinary creative education. It equips students with creative, personal, and professional skills through individual and collaborative projects, culminating in a final independently conceived project to empower their creative direction and career aspirations. In the first year (Level 4), students gain and develop a solid grounding in the relationship between 2D and 3D: form, texture, colour and shape. There will be a focus on analysis, reflection, research, and digital competencies. Collaborative projects introduce the dynamic nature of the creative industries and build essential capabilities for work. The second year (Level 5) encourages experimentation through dynamic project briefs to support a range of multidisciplinary fashion, textiles and millinery outcomes. Opportunities to engage with live project briefs and work-based learning with established professionals allow students to map their skills to industry expectations. Students further define their creative identity, applying their skills in individual and team-based projects. By exploring the context and applications of creative practice, they refine their direction and gain practical tools for societal and industry engagement. In the final year (Level 6), students independently design and deliver a major creative project, supported by a research methods module and professional development opportunities. This stage emphasizes iterative processes like design, prototyping, internal and external collaboration, and presentation, empowering students to confidently situate their practice within the creative industries.
