What you will learn

This course is aimed at those thinking about applying to drama school, but may be of interest to those who want to explore specific pieces of performance text. You will work with experienced tutor Chloe Stephens on short pieces of text. Chloe has worked as a Casting Assistant at Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre, and is a panelist on audition panels at various leading drama schools. You will learn specific techniques to help you prepare, looking at the text, your physicality and imagination. Please come with a 2 minute monologue prepared to use in the class.

Feel confident about auditioning for drama school
Warm up for an audition using voice and movement
Apply techniques to help you prepare for future auditions
Look at texts for clues to character
Develop the physicality and inner world of your character

Guidance will be given on your audition material, how to present yourself and any areas you may need to develop further in order to give you the best possible chance of success.

Please come prepared with either a classical or contemporary speech to work on

Bottle of water, clothes that you can move easily in - please do not wear tights as we may work with bare feet for the warm up
