What you will learn

The Alexander technique offers a sound basis for overcoming the effects of anxiety when speaking in public. You will be reading out loud, experimenting with your breath and voice’s capacity, relating through story to the rest of the group, listening to other people, and creating your own ‘style’ in speaking.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use reference points, through an understanding of the principles of the Alexander technique, to physically support your voice
  • Make choices about how to use your voice in different situations
  • Take the opportunity to approach public speaking with a different mind set

    What you need to know before you enrol

    The tutor will use gentle guiding hands on work on each individual during the class. Some movement will be involved as we speak with the whole body.
