No requirements though some acting experience is recommended.
What you need to know before you enrol
Excellent attendance and punctuality will be required from all students. This course will include some completion of activities outside of class time, e.g. preparation of favourite exercises to share with fellow students. Study can include the use of digital resources such as film & photography, useful websites and connection with online communities of interest via social media to enhance your learning. Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed.
What you need
Have a notebook, pencil, eraser and pen to class always. Wear loose clothing appropriate for an acting class. Bring any scripts which have been given by the tutor and any text as requested. Access and use of wifi, laptop or smart phone. When you have enrolled you will be sent instructions on how to use Microsoft Teams, as this is where teaching will take place online.
Class format and activities
Mode of delivery: online plus, ie a combination of in-centre and online study; we aim to deliver our courses via the mode that bests supports each course’s content, activities and goals while remaining flexible to our students’ needs. We will be using Microsoft Teams as our online platform for live-stream. You will work collaboratively with actors and tutor/director on a variety of scripts E.g. TV , film and commercial scripts. You will study leading industry practitioners . Prepared scripts will be developed through a rehearsal process and be videoed. Students will view the videoed work, then discuss and analyze techniques, skills and progress identifying areas for development. In order to ensure you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor. The tutor will also set assessment activities involving student exchange of ideas and student self-assessment for all students.
