What you will learn

This AAT Access Award in Accounting Software will introduce you to the use of accounting software. Achievement on your course will be measured by completion of external exams. Your progress towards achieving the learning outcomes will be reviewed throughout the course.At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals i.e.: progression to another course.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understanding processing financial transactions
  • Processing customer and supplier transactions
  • Processing receipts and payments
  • Understanding the benefits and risks of using accounting software
  • Setting up accounts
  • Recording bank and cash transactions
  • Producing reports using accounting software

Entry requirements

You will need maths and English at Entry 3 or above.

What you need to know before you enrol

Students are expected to maintain excellent attendance of above 90%. The course fee includes the cost of the accreditation with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), examination fees and some course materials. You will be required to cover the costs of any exam re-sits.

What you need

You will need access to a computer and internet connection to participate in lessons and complete homework. Lesson will be delivered via online platforms, i.e. Microsoft Teams and Moodle.

Class format and activities

Online delivery with limited face-to-face teaching. You will complete individual and group activities and you will receive regular feedback from your tutor.
