Listening to tutor presentation, explanation and demonstration. Guided analytical listening and group discussion. Taking your own notes. Participating in discussion based on tutor’s presentation and on your own reading and listening homework.
Willingness to listen to set works and read outside course hours. Good English
This course makes no unusual physical demands. There is a lot of listening in class and some for homework

Join one of the other Jazz History short courses. The College also offers a wide range of related performance courses for instruments (e.g. piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drum kit), voices (gospel, jazz, soul pop and rock) and ensembles (jazz, Rhythm & Blues, soul, funk, gospel, Latin, Afro-Cuban).
