What you will learn
A one day taster for Beginners to get the feel for Metal Sculpture and explore some welding, cutting techniques and appropriate health & safety procedures. Existing Metal Sculpture students can use this class to develop their on going projects from the term. It is essential to wear old clothes and strong footwear. These courses are technician supported. Basic materials included.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- Beginner Students will: Practice basic welding & cutting procedures including safety requirements. Practice Health and safety and good workshop practice
- Returning/Ongoing Students will: Develop skill & techniques in metal sculpture with ongoing personal projects from the term.

Step by step instruction, demonstrations and observation.
Individual tuition and question and answer.
Group discussion and feedback.
Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.
What you need to know before you enrol
What you will need for your class
Fire proof overalls or clothes if possible (some of these can also be borrowed in class)
Protective footwear or strong shoes/boots.
All college issue protective clothing must be worn where applicable
