What you will learn
An accredited course for anyone wanting to make the first steps into working as a teaching assistant. Gain L1 Award in Occupational Studies.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- Supporting individuals with specific learning activities
- How to keep Children safe
- How to support children's development
- Working with teachers to plan learning
- Providing equal access to all
Class format and activities
You will be working as a group or individually on written and reading tasks, projects and interactive activities.
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.

What you need to know before you enrol
You will have to have 100% attendance, Homework will also be set regularly.
What you will need for your class
You will need a folder to organise and present your work, a pen, paper and you can bring your own mobile phone or tablet to use in class.
What you can do next
You can enter employment as a teaching assistant, or continue your studies at Level 2. You may also study for your English and Maths.
