What you will learn

This workshop is suitable for those who are preparing to take the ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory exam and wish to revise their knowledge. It is also suitable for those who wish to improve their theory skills quickly in this one-day workshop.

By the end of the course you will be able to

  • have a better understanding of the rudiments the theory from the ABRSM Grade 5 worksbook.

This is a live online face to face course.
Listening and taking notes from tutor presentation, explanation and demonstration Written, listening and practical exercises in class Individual and group work Completing questions from ABRSM past papers

Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.

Entry requirements

You will need to have studied ABRSM Grade 5 theory or to have equivalent knowledge. Elementary keyboard skills will be useful.

What you need to know before you enrol

This is an intensive one-day course with only a short lunch-break.
Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the following learning outcomes. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals.
Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time.

What you will need for your class

Pencil and eraser, notebook, manuscript paper.
To join this online class you will need a good internet connection and computer/tablet with webcam and sound.
