By the end of the course you will be able to

  • Improve basic fitness level.
  • Develop musicality whilst dancing.
  • Have a basic understanding of popular dance styles.
  • Develop dance technique in musical theatre dance styles.
  • Be able to perform different dance styles / choreography from well known musicals.

Class format and activities

Mode of delivery: online plus [link above].
Each class can be attended without requiring to attend previous sessions, however the final session will be focussing on a section of choreography that includes an amalgamation showcase of all of the styles learnt throughout the course. All activities will be adapted to all abilities, with options in each exercise varying from Beginner to Intermediate.

For sessions when students will be participating in class remotely, via live-stream link-up – and thus joining fellow students located in-studio, you will be guided how to adapt studio-based exercises in order to participate effectively throughout the class.

In order to ensure you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor.
The tutor will also set assessment activities involving student exchange of ideas and student self-assessment for all students, whether you are participating in-studio or via live-stream.

The course will be delivered live via MS Teams (when attending remotely) and may include a series of support material such as video recaps and/or practical tasks provided via any of the online platforms supported by the College (Moodle, MS stream, etc)

Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.
