  • Perform and remember stretch exercises

Class format and activities

Warm-up to loosen the body

Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.

Entry requirements

You will need to have experience of either Taiji, Qigong or Dance.

What you need to know before you enrol

The taiji fan requires a degree of fitness and flexibility. However, these can be developed in the class and students must be aware of and work to their own limits and abilities. All movements can be performed in an upright posture and more gently.

What you will need for your class

Loose-fitting, comfortable clothes. Flat martial arts shoes or trainers that are only for indoor use should be worn. A Taiji Fan if you have one, otherwise you can borrow one from the college.

What you can do next

Join a Taiji or Qigong class at Morley, and there are plans to introduce further Taiji Fan and weapons classes.
