What you will learn
Taster portrait life modelling course for beginners to get a feel for clay and try portrait life sculpture techniques measuring and observing a life model. Open to all levels. Basic materials included.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- Learn basic proportions of the head
- Learn measurment and observation techniques working from a life model
- Learn and practice clay handling and modelling
- Learn to hollow and finish clay ready for firing
Class format and activities
You will be learning and exploring clay life modelling, learning to observe and take measurements from a life model.
Learn to hollow and prepare your work for firing.
Improve skills and confidence with guidance & tutoring both group and one -to one from tutor.
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
None - all levels welcome
What you need to know before you enrol
Some lifting of your own clay work and studio furniture is required if you are able, but help and lifting equipment is always available.
What you will need for your class
A work apron, strong shoes, sketch book and pencils, camera or device to take photos to record progress
