What you will learn
This course is for you if you are interested in learning about the practicalities of the fashion industry from design to production, branding and sales. You’ll gain an insight into the commission process as well as learning about manufacturing. You will also have an opportunity to practise pitching a fashion brand idea.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- Identify different search methods to assist and support finding job opportunities in the fashion industry.
- Improve and prepare a professional fashion related CV and cover letter help you with the application process.
- Develop some inspirational ideas to present your work in a unique and professional manner.
Class format and activities
Teaching will be both in groups and on a one-to-one basis, with practical and technical advice supporting individual learners’ abilities and different levels of existing skills within inclusive and supportive environment. You will be involved in practical activities to improve on and develop new skills. The Tutor will outline the different job search methods, giving specific industry related examples. You will explore ways of presenting your work and prepare a professional cover letter and CV to assist your search for job opportunities. You will be provided with constructive feedback.
Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.
• No previous experience is necessary

• Students must be able to speak, read and write in English

What you need to know before you enrol
The course is very intensive, punctuality is necessary in order to achieve the best from this course. Most of the tasks & activities involved require you to use a PC screen for number of hours. Please disclose in advance if you have any special learning need, visual impairments or have experience difficulties tolerating screen light.
Please note: there is no eating or drinking allowed in the classroom - no liquids at all are allowed.
