What you will learn
Many people would like to make clothes using stretch fabrics or overlock the clothes they make in a professional way, but find the idea of using a multi-thread machine too daunting. Conquer these challenges and many more areas of clothes making will become available to you. This course will help you get to grips with this challenging machinery and to overcome your fears. You will learn how to set up and use this type of machine correctly and safely, how to solve problems and use a range of machine functions while you cut and construct a simple pair of jogging trousers to your own size. Suitable for both women and men, you must be competent on a two-thread sewing machine to benefit from this course.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- to lay out and cut an active wear pattern in stretch fabric
- to set up and thread a multi-thread machine successfully
- to start and finish chain, test and adjust stitch settings
- to make seams, cuffs and hems
- to apply elastic to openings and finish
- to produce a simple pair of jogging bottoms using this kind of machine
