What you will learn

Prepare yourself for summer with Pilates Summer Intensive, a five-session package (includes one free session) for that strengthened, toned and contoured beach readiness!

By the end of the course you will be able to

  • General postural awareness with focus on the spine
  • Breathing techniques
  • Core stability including deep abdominal muscles, lower back muscles and pelvic floor muscles
  • Mobility exercises to improve joint mobility and co-ordination
  • Simple movements performed with body alignment and with use of core strength

Class format and activities

Practical floor/mat work. Exercises are performed to gentle music to aid regular breathing and patterning. Exercises are done in socked feet.

Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.

Entry requirements

No skills or previous experience are required before joining this course.
Adaptations and modifications of exercises will be offered to suit different levels of ability.

What you need to know before you enrol

Students will need a degree of concentration, a reasonable level of fitness and mobility, and the ability to work alongside a range of adults.

Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, have any serious health concerns or a history of injury and inform your tutor of any physical activity you have been advised to avoid.

Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed.

What you will need for your class

Comfortable clothing: leotard, tights, leggings or tracksuit bottoms and clean socks.
No belts, day trousers, waistbands, or shoes.
